The missing and endangered Falls Township man, Joseph Verni has been found deceased in Bensalem Township, authorities confirmed Friday afternoon.
The 72-year-old Fairless Hills man went missing Monday and was thought to be in Bristol Township in the Ford Road area, police said.
Earlier this morning Lower Bucks Source received tips Verni perished.
Falls Twp Police Lt Chris Clark confirmed Verni’s death , referring Lower Bucks Source to Bensalem authorities and the county coroner’s officer.
On Thursday, August 1, 2024, Bensalem Police responded to a report of a juvenile finding a body in the Neshaminy Creek, while fishing in Newport Park off of Bensalem Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers located a deceased male face down in Neshaminy Creek, a few feet off of the shoreline. The deceased male had a set of car keys in his back pocket. Officers checked the parking lot and discovered the keys matched a white Honda Fit. The registration returned to Joseph Verni, 72, Fairless Hills, PA. The registration and Verni had been entered into NCIC as a missing suicidal subject. There were no signs of trauma or foul play, said Bensalem Detective-Sgt Glenn Vandergrift.
The Bucks County Coroner’s Office will be determining cause and manner of death, Vandergrift added.
Mr. Verni’s family was notified, he said.
The county coroner’s officer was unavailable for comment as of 1:30 p.m. This story will be updated when the coroner’s office responds.
