Updated: Vehicle Goes Trough Southampton Nursery School



Updated 5:00 p.m. 

A press conference just concluded in which Upper Southampton Police say one child was seriously injured with life threatening injuries and three others inured when a BMW plowed through Children of America Daycare school. 

Reports say 17 children were napping at the time of the crash.

Police say the unidentified driver was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center is a delivery driver. 

Officials from the Bucks County District Attorney’s officer are on the scene. 

79 Children were at the school at the time of the incident officials said. 

Three children were taken to Abington Hospital – a level two trauma center. 

The seriously injured child was taken to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) 

Cause of the accident has yet to be determined

A vehicle has crashed into a nursery school in Southampton injuring at least four. 

According to sources on the scene there are four victims-three of which are children. Victims of the accident have been transported to area hospitals. 

A witness to the accident said on Facebook Southampton Police were involved in a ” high speed car chase” behind the Giant Supermarket located on the 400 block of Second Street Pike when the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the nursery school.

The above has yet to be confirmed by Southampton PD as of publication.

Initial Story

First responders are on scene at the Children of America Daycare on Knowles and Second Street Pike.

Alerts went out calling the crash “a mass casualty incident” to first responders in the area. 

Sources are reporting multiple children were struck by the vehicle that crashed into the school but its unclear if they were out or inside the school.

Witnesses on the scene tell Lower Bucks Source children are already being taken to area hospitals for treatment with number of victims ranging from two to four.

“Armed Man” Initiates Lockdown for Levittown Elementary School Thursday, No Charges Filed



Brookwood Elementary

**Update: Friday 4 a.m.**

Earlier Thursday, Brookwood Elementary in Bristol Township instituted their “Lockdown Procedures” due to an alleged report of a “armed man” in the area of the school.

Parents received a community update notice which said they were in lockdown due to a security concern in a nearby neighborhood.  The notice said updates would be provided as they occur and to please not come to or contact the school.

Police dispatched to the elementary school raced up Haines Road one witness told the publication taking one man into custody, authorities  said.

“There was an incident involving an adult male, who was in possession of a firearm near the school crossing guard post (Kenwood Drive North & Key Lane.) There is no information at this time that he attempted to enter the school. The matter is under investigation. No one has been arrested as of this time,” said Lt. Sean Cosgrove in an e-email exchange with Lower Bucks Source, shortly after the incident.

At 1:30 p.m., the lockdown was lifted without further incident.

Morrisville Borough Police Reports March 26 to April 1, 2024

Arrest/Harassment – 03/28/24 @ 21:13 – A 24 year old female was cited for Harassment for an incident at an apartment complex on the 300 block of Plaza Boulevard.

Motor Vehicle Theft – 03/29/24 @ 16:08 – Report of a BMW stolen from an apartment complex on the 400 block of Plaza Boulevard. Value:  $10,000.00

Retail Theft – 03/29/24 @ 17:25 – Report of merchandise stolen from the Giant Food Store on W. Trenton Avenue.  Value:  $120.00

Arrest/DUI – 03/30/24 @ 02:59 – A 29 year old male was arrested for Driving Under the Influence after a traffic accident on W. Hendrickson and Harper Avenues.  He was processed and released.

Warrant/PICS – 04/01/24 – A warrant will be issued for a 28 year old male for Unsworn Falsification to Authorities in attempting to purchase a firearm at the Mega Pawn Shop on W. Bridge Street on 02/27/23.

Bridge Construction to Close Newportville Road in Bristol, Bensalem Townships




The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced last week that the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is planning bridge construction on Newportville Road in Bristol and Bensalem townships, beginning Monday, February 12.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:

Monday, February 12, through Friday, February 16, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a closure is scheduled on Newportville Road between Zimmerman Lane and New Falls Road. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Zimmerman Lane and New Falls Road.

Local access will be maintained up to the work zone.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur.

All scheduled activities are weather dependent. Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles, including color-coded winter conditions, by visiting 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.
