Bristol Man Charged with Aggravated Assault in Saturday Morning Stabbing, Jailed

The man police say stabbed a woman in the abdomen leaving her in “critical condition” has been charged with aggravated assault. 

Denis Chirskoy 27 of Bristol was arraigned by On-Call Justice Corryn L. Kronnagel at 3:45 p.m this afternoon. Kronnagel set his bail at 10 % of $500,000. and he was sent to Bucks County Correctional. 

Chirskoy was also charged with simple assault, reckless endangerment and possessing an instrument of crime for the attack. 

Bristol Borough Police officer Jame Ellis’ quickly located Chirskoy close to the 700 block Corson Street address where the assault occurred and placed him into custody, 

Police say Chirskoy sustained a stab wound from the incident which was treated at a local medical facility before his arraignment. 

Family and friends of the victim, who we will not identify, have taken to social media Saturday afternoon to express their shock about the attack. 

The Saturday morning calm of Bristol Borough was punctured with a man taken into custody for stabbing a woman in a domestic incident. 

The incident, which was described as a domestic occurred around 6 a.m when borough police responded to the 700 Block of Corson Street. 

Crime scene tape blocked off Corson St. approaching Route 13 as investigators collected evidence and informed locals about the active investigation.

Borough Police Chief, Steve Henry  who was on the scene, confirmed the domestic incident report and said “one female suffered a stab wound and was transferred to a local medical facility,” but he would not elaborate on the seriousness of her injury (s).

Henry said the unidentified suspect who also suffered an injury was still being interviewed at Police Headquarters. 

“Until the actor is processed we’re not releasing his name” Henry said.

A review of online court documents for the jurisdiction revealed, as of 9 am, no preliminary arraignments have been scheduled for the on-call justice.
