Bristol Township Police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred Wednesday morning in Levittown in which one patrol officer was involved in crash with a motorist.
According to Police, at about 09:05 am this morning an adult male entered the Wells Fargo Bank branch situated at New Falls Road and Veteran’s Highway, adjacent to the border of Bristol Township and Middletown Township. The male’s appearance was obscured by a head-to-ankle garment and a medical / contractor’s mask.
The subject passed a robbery note to a teller. He implied that he had a weapon, but never actually displayed it. An employee activated an alarm, and the male fled on foot into Middletown Township, said Lt Sean Cosgrove.
Officers from both police agencies responded. A search of the surrounding area was conducted using personnel, a K9, and a drone. The subject was not apprehended, police said.
During the incident, a Bristol Township Police Officer was involved in a traffic collision with an uninvolved motorist. No injuries were reported, said Cosgrove.
The investigation is ongoing.
Anyone that recognizes the subject in the images or who has information is asked to contact Det Alex Asmann at 267-812-3037 or aasmann82@bristolpd.org.
