Bensalem Man Charged in Saturday Night’s Chase, Crash



A Bensalem man was charged for leading state and local police on a “reckless” chase late Saturday night.
Andre Reed, 19 was charged with fleeing police, reckless endangerment, tampering with evidence, driving under the influence of a controlled substance and nine traffic summary offenses.
He was arraigned by on-call District Judge Frank W. Peranteau Sr. Sunday morning who set bail at 10 percent of $30,000. which Reed posted.o
In the late night police pursuit and subsequent crash, Reed allegedly slammed into the driver side rear end of a Mustang GTO, careening across the median coming to rest just below the Street Road overpass on Bristol Pike- Route 13 southbound side, just past 11 pm.

Police were pursuing the suspect at high speeds on the northbound lane of Rt 13.
Reed was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries, Police said, before he was arraigned early Sunday morning.
The chase and crash led to a massive police and first responder response.
Authorities were seen searching the parking lot areas of businesses along the Route 13 northbound side apparently for evidence.
Police on scene would not comment on the search and said ‘the investigation was active and ongoing.” at the time.
Reed who turned 19 weeks ago is currently scheduled to appear for a hearing on December 13 in Bensalem District Court.
