Bensalem Police Arrest Philadelphia Woman For Attacking Boyfriend’s Former Lover

Bensalem Police arrested a Philadelphia woman after she attacked her current boyfriend’s former love interest who also shares custody of a child with the man.  

Bensalem Police were notified of an assault that took place on the 3000 block of Brownsville Rd on Sunday, April 19th. The call was from the victim who informed police that she had been attacked by her son’s father’s girlfriend identified as Meiby Cortes Forero, 27 of Philadelphia.

Upon arrival, police spoke with the victim, who stated that  Cortes Forero arrived on scene earlier and immediately started an argument with the victim’s son. The victim told police Cortes Forero punched her in the face, clawing at her eyes, and assaulted her on the ground.

Police observed multiple lacerations on the victim’s face and head as well as deep red bruising. The victim also kept constant pressure on her side where her gallbladder was recently removed, police said. 

The victim was taken to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital for further medical evaluation, officers wrote in court papers. 

While Bensalem Police prepared an incident report, Cortes Forero arrived at Bensalem Police headquarters where she was placed into police custody. 

Cortes Forero was arraigned on felony aggravated assault  and simple assault charges by on-call Judge Michael Gallagher early Monday. She was released after posting $5000.00 bond. 

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 30 in Judge Falcone’s court. She currently has no attorney of attorney, according to online court records.
