Bensalem Township Police arrested two suspects for stealing merchandise from a Wine and Good Spirits and hiding it in their girdles.
According to a press release, Bensalem PD were alerted to the theft at the Wine and Good Spirits located at 2223 Galloway Rd.
The first incident came on Dec. 10, when officers responded to a reported retail theft involving two suspects who selected multiple bottles of high-end tequila, concealed the merchandise, and fled the store without paying. Bensalem Police Forensic Analysts responded to the shopping center to assist with the collection of video evidence. During the investigation, it was determined that the suspects were dropped off and later picked up by a dark green Toyota Tundra with New Jersey registration PXD-35B.
The suspects would return to the store again on Dec. 19, stealing merchandise in a similar fashion.
On their third visit on Dec. 27, the manager of the store recognized the two individuals and immediately contacted police.
Responding officers located the suspect vehicle parked nearby and safely detained the occupants. Officers also observed the suspects wearing clothing consistent with that seen in surveillance footage from the prior thefts.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the two suspects identified as Willie Floyd and Barry Ali Bailey stole $329.97 during their visit to the store on Dec. 27. They were also hiding the merchandise in concealment garments they were wearing.
Both suspects are being charged with retail thief and criminal conspiracy.
District Justice Stacy Wertman arraigned the suspects. Upson was remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10% of $50,000 bail, and Bailey was remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10% of $40,000 bail.
