Authorities across the Philadelphia region are celebrating a $ 6 million dollar win for the good guys in the war on illicit drugs where Bensalem Police K-9 Moose played an integral role in the bust, police said.
K-9 Moose and his handler Detective Jack Gohl are members of the DEA Philadelphia Field Office Task Force. Alongside the FBI, the Philadelphia Police Department, and the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, they participated in a long-term investigation that resulted in the seizure of several kilograms of Fentanyl and Cocaine officials said.
The Bensalem Police authored release did not provide specifics on arrests made.
The investigation, which spanned more than eight months, Bensalem authorities said, highlights the importance of interagency cooperation and the dedication of law enforcement agencies working together to combat the drug epidemic impacting our communities.
“We commend everyone involved for their tireless efforts in removing these dangerous narcotics from our streets and helping to keep the public safe” said a Bensalem Public Safety spokesperson.
Philadelphia authorities, coincidentally on Tuesday, announced charges against two individuals in connection with what officials described as a major drug trafficking investigation that resulted in the seizure of fentanyl and cocaine with an estimated street value of $6 million.
