Bensalem Police Launch Public Safety Site for Biz Owners, Community

Keeping the public safe is one of the highest priorities for local governments and with that in mind the Bensalem Police Department is adding one more tool to its public safety toolbox for businesses and the community.

The department recently launched a new website where residents and businesses can sign up for the township’s camera registry effort  and find out more about the program.

“The department is utilizing Fūsus to create stronger public-private collaborations and enable businesses and community members to work more closely with law enforcement,” according to the connect Bensalem website.

“The security safety agency works to make law enforcement officers, security personnel and the communities they protect safer,” Fusus officials say. 

The use of video footage recently led to the speedy apprehension of a suspected armed robber by police, officials said.

The camera registry can save investigators and first responsders precious time when in emergent situations authorities say.

“The Bensalem Police Department camera registry is a way to easily locate the nearest cameras in a designated area during the course of an investigation, emergency event, or emergency response. In the past, investigators had to rely on eyewitnesses and piece together pertinent information over days and sometimes months.”

The registry website offers a frequently asked questions section which addresses privacy concerns in detail
