Bensalem Twp Council Presents Awards to Residents & Business

Bensalem Township Council presented awards to residents, police officers, and businesses at the Bensalem Township meeting Monday night.

These awards were given out to those for there excellent work in the community.

Those who received the awards were as follows:

Brain Guay, a public work employee who helped police officers trap and contain 15 pounds of methamphetamine with a street value of 1.6 million dollars.

Robert Holt and paramedic Pat Anthony Ponticelli who teamed up to take down a suspect who had robbed a women of her purse in the Wawa on Bristol Road.

Corporal Robert Schwarting and his K9 partner Brownie were awarded the Bensalem Township Police Department’s 2021 officer of the year award for their dedication, loyalty, and overall job performance throughout the year. Schwarting and Brownie have taken part in confiscating firearms, high capacity magazines, and illegal narcotics. The duo were also awarded the Top Dog Award in the United States Police Canine Association Police Dog Trials.

And finally the business of Bensalem Beer and Soda.

The Business played a key role in identifying and capturing  a homicide suspect in the killing of  Chiropractor James Sowa on November 2, 2020.
