The two-alarm fire at a Bristol Borough Bridal shop is under investigation by the Bucks County Fire Marshal’s office, officials say.

The Friday afternoon fire ripped through the roof of the An Elegant Affair  at 420 Pond Street is under investigation by the Bucks County Fire Marshal’s Office.

Fire companies were dispatched around 3:40 p.m., some 45 minutes after students ended their school day at Snyder-Girotti Elementary School on the opposite side of Pond St.

First arriving fire companies found a large volume of fire coming from the front overhang on the Pond St side of the building.

Bristol Borough Fire Chief Herb Slack said a second alarm was immediately struck over concerns of the size of the building, the fire load, potential exposures and high wind.

Fire crews responding included all Bristol Borough, Bristol Township and Falls Township fire companies, Tullytown, Eddiington, Newport, Pennedel and William Penn fire companies and Bucks County Rescue Squad.

Firefighters were able to quickly contain and extinguish the fire, Slack said, despite the windy conditions.

On Saturday morning, part of the overhang and the parapet wall on Pond St was removed over concerns of an additional partial collapse, said Slack

Slack said there were no injuries reported and the cause of the fire is being investigated by County Fire officials.

Footage of firefighters knocking black the raging roof fire was posted to YouTube by Third District Fire Company Fire Chief Howard McGoldrick.
