A fire ripped through a bridal shop in Bristol Borough Friday afternoon causing damages to the roof

Bristol area First Responders fought  the blaze that engulfed Elegant Bridal Gallery shop on the 400 block of  Pond Street Friday afternoon in frigid tempertures and howling winds.

The fire which apparently could be seen for blocks around ripped through roof of the shop  just before 3:45 pm

Witnesses to the blaze said a massive response by first responders shut own Pond Street in both directions as they attacked the fire in the blustery elements from all directions.

Firefighters were seen cutting into the roof to fight the spread of the flames and while additional fire crews fought the blaze from above.

Firefighters were seen checking existing homes to the left of the fire for spreading and general safety precautions while parts of the business were still smoking.  As of 4:20 pm the fire looked to be put out,m one source said.,

No injuries as of publication time were reported.

Bristol fire officials were not immediately available for comment on this story.
