A 30 year -old Norristown, PA man was jailed on strangulation and simple assault charges on Memorial Day.
Police say Quanshore Ramsey, beat his victim during an argument about going away on May 2.
Police were called to the The Grand at Neshaminy apartment complex responding to a report of a domestic fight in progress.
Police interviewed Ramsey upon arrival. He told police they were arguing about going to the “shore” and that because she was yelling at him, he put his hand over her mouth and she bit him, according to court documents. Authorities noted a small bite mark on the man’s hand.
Police then interviewed the victim in her apartment noting her nose was bloodied and she had scratches on her neck according to criminal complaint.
The victim told Bensalem Officers that the two were arguing and Ramsey grabbed her by the hair dragging her from the bedroom to the living room. H then forced her face into the carpet making it difficult to breathe, turning her around on her back and began strangling her. Police allege he covered her mouth so she could not be heard screaming, court records show.
The victim then bit Ramsey on the hand attempting to flee her apartment to call for help, police say. Ramsey grabbed her by the hair, for a second time, attempting to pull the terrified woman back into the apartment. Ramsey then, police say, punched her in the face.
A helpful neighbor interrupted the attack and called police, according to court documents.
Ramsey was jailed in lieu of 10 % of $100 K bail and is tentatively scheduled for a hearing on the charges July 2.
