Cops: Thieves Strike in Eddington; Multiple Car Thefts Reported

Bensalem Police responded to the Eddington section of the township for a report of a commercial burglary and three vehicle thefts that occurred overnight.

At 1:30 am, police responded to East Coast Cycle on Bristol Pike for a burglary in progress.  Three males were seen pulling up to the business in a U-Haul box truck.  The suspects entered the secure rear yard and were attempting to steal ATV’s.

As police arrived on-scene, the males left the U-Haul truck behind and fled on foot.  After an extensive search of the area, Bensalem Police located all three juvenile males, took them into custody and charged them with burglary and related offenses.

At 2:38 am, police took a report of a vehicle theft that occurred at the Wawa on Bristol Pike.

The owner of the vehicle left his vehicle unlocked with the keys in the ignition and went inside of the store.

Two males dressed in all black entered the vehicle and drove south on Bristol Pike.

At 6:05 am, police took another report of a stolen vehicle from Elwood Avenue.

A white Hyundai Elantra that was parked in front of the house, was stolen sometime overnight.

The vehicle was reported to be unlocked with the keys inside.

At 6:20 am, police took a third report of a stolen vehicle from Bowman Avenue.

Sometime overnight, a black Ford Fusion was stolen from the driveway of a home.  The vehicle was reportedly locked and there was a key fob left inside of the vehicle.

Bensalem Police are investigating and trying to determine if all of these incidents are related.  This may be an organized group of individuals that targeted Bensalem community last night.

Just down Street Road in Warrington Township a similar rash of thefts were reported. 

According to Warrington Twp Police, they investigated 25 thefts, four automobiles were reported stolen and four residential burglaries occurred.

Police in Buckingham Township reported similar rash of incidents in those areas also.

Bensalem Police are diligently working to identify and arrest the persons that committed these vehicle thefts. All of these vehicles were stolen because the keys were left inside of the vehicle.

This is a reminder that you should take your keys, remove  your valuables and lock your vehicle anytime that you are not driving police said.
