Croydon Woman Charged with DUI, Aggravated Assault in Crash Seriously Injuring 12 Year-Old Girl



Bensalem Police announced the arrest of a Croydon woman on Thursday for aggravated assault and DUI for an accident on January 6 that seriously injured a student about to board a school buson Bensalem Boulevard.
Kathleen Wesley, 35, was arraigned by District Justice Wagner and sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10% of $100,000 bail on charges for failing to stop for red stop signals on the bus and striking the juvenile female, police say.
The crash occurred at intersection of Bensalem Boulevard and Timber Lane. A twelve year old female was crossing Bensalem Blvd. to board a school bus when she was struck by a White 2000 Ford F-150 pick up truck driven by Wesley.
The juvenile was treated for numerous serious injuries and remains in the hospital at the time of this post.
Wesley is charged with Aggravated Assault by a vehicle while DUI, Aggravated Assault by a Vehicle, Reckless Endangerment, overtaking a school bus, and reckless driving. According to online court documents she is tentatively scheduled for a preliminary hearing on February 26.
