The missing and endangered Falls Township man who was found dead last week in Nesahminy Creek died as a result of accidental drowning the Bucks County Coroner’s office said Tuesday.
ย Joseph Verniย went missing last Monday night and was thought to be in Bristol Township in the Ford Road area, police said late Thursday.
Friday morning he was discovered by a minor fishing at Neshaminy Creek, while in Newport Park off of Bensalem Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers located a deceased male face down in theย Creek, a few feet off of the shoreline, Bensalem authorities said.

The deceased male had a set of car keys in his back pocket.ย Officers checked the parking lot and discovered the keys matched a white Honda Fit.ย The registration returned to Joseph Verni, 72, Fairless Hills, Bensalem Police said.
Verni had been entered into NCIC as a missing person in crisis police said.
There were no signs of trauma or foul play, said Bensalem Detective-Sgt Glenn Vandergrift.
Mr. Verni’s death was by drowning and it was accidental, saidย First Deputy Coroner Scott Croop said this afternoon.
