A fire ripped through a Bensalem home early Friday morning owned by former township officials.
Fire officials say the blaze was reported to emergency services at about 3:40 a.m. this morning. Fire crews were dispatched to a two-story home along the 4600 block of Wagonhouse Lane, in the township, at a dwelling with three apartments.
Fire officials said heavy smoke and flames were showing when they arrived on scene.
Initial reports mentioned the possibility of residents entrapped, however, fire crews searched the home with negative results, fire officials said.
Bensalem firefighters put three water lines into service to fight the blaze.
Former Councilwoman Stacy Champion and her husband, Al a former member of the township’s zoning board own the property, but don’t live at their Wagonhouse Lane home.
