Ida Rips Through Lower Bucks Leaving a Trail of Destruction

The remnants of Hurricane Ida ripped through Lower Bucks County Wednesday night, bringing with it 3 reported tornado’s to the region and about 5 inches of rain causing flooding throughout the area.

A home in Bristol Borough, on Mill Street had its roof ripped off, falling onto Mill St. and leaving the homeowner and occupants of the building horrified.

Video captured what appears to be a tornado, near the Burlington Bristol Bridge moving swiftly towards Bucks County.

Bensalem Township closed schools today.

Middletown Township has a number of roads closed as of 7:30 am: Brownsville Road from Creek Road to N Hawthorne Ave. Periwinkle Ave. and Bridle Rd. Route 413 from Heatons Mill to Summit Ave. Bridgetown Pike from 413 to Langhorne Yardley Rd. Lower Silver Lake Road.

Thousands lost power after 7 p.m however a PECO had restored energy to most of the homes in Lower Bucks as of 8 am.
All Bucks County government offices will be closed today, Sept. 2 including  the Common Pleas and Magisterial District Courts, and court-related offices, officials said.
