A 21 year-old Philadelphia man about to celebrate three days short of his 23rd birthday is facing sexual assault and corruption of a minors charges accused of getting a 14 year-old Bensalem girl pregnant.
District Judge Joseph P. Falcone arraigned Angel Mervin Thursday afternoon on statutory sexual assault and corruption of minors charges.
According to a probable cause affidavit, police responded to the 400 block of Oak Court, for an investigation. There, they met with a mother who claimed that Mervin had impregnated her 14 year -old daughter.
When brought into questioning, Mervin told police he had sexual intercourse with the underage girl numerous times beginning in June of 2024, until Oct. 2025. Mervin told police he ended the relationship when he found out the girl was only 14-years old, according to the criminal complaint.
The 14 year-old was taken for a medical evaluation at Children’s Hospital, and was found to be 19 weeks pregnant, police said.
Though Mervin claims he broke up with the girl when he found out she was 14, the girl told police that she was still dating Mervin and confirmed it was his child she was carrying.
Mervin was remanded to Bucks County Correctional Facility in lieu of 10 percent of $100,000.00 bail with a court set for December 16 to answer to the charges. He has no attorney of record listed, according to online court records.
