A Montgomery County man will serve a minimum of 8 1/2 years and a maximum of 17 years in state prison for trying to meet up with a 12 year-old to have sex in Bensalem Township.
Uturah Golson, 32, of Pottstown, pleaded guilty in April to criminal attempt to commit rape of a child, criminal attempt to commit involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and criminal solicitation to photograph or film a child sex act.
According to police, Golson while using a dating app began a conversation with what he thought was a 12 year old girl in March of 2023.
The conversation was sexual in nature with Golson asking if the juvenile liked older men, if she had sex and he also asked if she would send him nude photos. The messaging continued for over three months during which, Golson asked the juvenile to meet with him to have sexual intercourse and specifically described the sexual acts that he wanted to perform on her, according to police.
In July of 2023 Golson took public transportation from his Pottstown home to Bensalem to meet with the juvenile to have a sexual encounter, police said, however the meeting never took place.

After the canceled meeting, Golson continued to message the 12-year-old. At one point, the juvenile stated that she was at her friends house. Golson asked about her friends age and when she said 11-years-old, Golson asked to meet to have sex with both of them, police said.
He was arrested July 13, 2023.
“I commend the Bensalem Police Department and the prosecution team for the outstanding work done in this case, and I am grateful for the assistance of the Pottstown Police Department,” District Attorney Jennifer Schorn said. “It’s thanks to professionals like these that sexual predators who are trolling the internet looking to prey upon our kids are caught, prosecuted, and incarcerated.”
