A law aimed to punish predators who cause victims of sextortion to self harm or commit suicide known as Lindsey Law has been signed by Governor Tom Wolf recently.

The law is in honor of a girl named Lindsey Piccone, who was the victim of sextortion, which is the act of an individual demanding sexually explicit photos of videos on an individual, threatening violence and other harmful acts if they don’t get it. Due to the abuse that she suffered, Lindsey took her own life, writing in her death by suicide note “before someone else ruins my life, I am ruining mine.”

State Rep. K.C Tomlison (R-Bucks ) is the prime sponsor of the bill and worked hard for its  passage.  and when last interviewed by Lower Bucks Source  said she’d like to see the bill on Governor Wolf’s desk by the end of summer. The bill was able to make it there sooner then that, and has been signed by Wolf.

In a press release, Tomlinson said she’s happy for the Piccone family as now justice will forever be served in her name.

Act 75 will add to the already existing law on sextortion, sentencing enhancements for predators whose abuse leads to serious bodily harm or death.

Anther Bill that Wolf signed that day was House Bill 1594, which puts checkpoints in place to stop the sales of stolen goods online.
