BBPD speaking with Children at Boro Rec Program

Bristol Borough resident Stephanie Feret was watching as her son Dalton, age 5 approach two of Bristol Borough’s finest.

“He just loves talking to the guys who are police officers. It made his night” she said.

Feret was talking about Borough Police being on hand for the last night of intramural basketball last Tuesday  at Snyder Girotti Elementary School Gym.

Officer in Charge Sgt Joe Moors with officers Elifa Soto and Matthew Sozio took time out to visit with the borough’s future superstars.

All three spent time speaking with and taking shots with the dozens of kids in attendance.

School Board President David Chichilitti also stopped by on his way back home from work.

Athletic Director of the program, Mike Poploskie said he’s been overwhelmed by the response to the program and the help he’s received from a  dozen or so volunteers.

Heather Vearling, Kate Harris, Stephanie Moyette, Stacey Dragon, Aaron Antonelli, Steve Cullen, Raul Irizarry, Tom Paolini, Sean Coughlin, Mick Angelo, Rocco Pirollo, Jennifer Cuevas, Andrew McMillan, Dalia Ocasio Colon Morgan Cullen, Angelisse Cantiello, Mackenzie Kauffman, Mick and Rocco and Andrew Dittman owner of Calm Waters Coffee all helped by sharing their time for free, said  Poploskie.

“I really want to thank the guys from the police department for coming out tonight. Their presence here means a lot to the community and the kids” he said.

Kids attending at the end of the night had pizza and gold medals were distributed to all children in attendance

Moors declined to comment because he was too busy hitting three’s from behind the arc.
