A motorcyclist cut off by a motorist in the area of State Road and Rt 413 Thursday night forced traffic to be redirected as police investigated with a slew of fellow riders angered by the accident.
The incident occurred around 6:45 p.m. when according to on-scene sources a motorist with no patience and in a rush cut off the rider on State Road approaching Rt 413 adjacent to Wawa. The rider, the source said, laid his bike down to avoid a far worse outcome. He was seen walking with EMS staff under his own power to be medically evaluated. Meanwhile incoming traffic from Croydon and beyond was redirected through the chemical plant roadway onto Otter Street. Motorists headed towards Bensalem rubbernecked their way through the accident zone with first responders and fire police assisting on scene.
Earlier this week a motorcyclist was sent to the hospital in critical condition after a multi vehicle crash.
Several riders sent communications expressing anger about the latest incident saying was caused by an “ignorant” or inattentive motorist.
“They think they own the road, never considering we’re out there too… never realizing a lot of us are first responders who just love to ride. It’s just crazy the lack of respect shown to us on local roads.”
Another local motorcycle enthusiast, said “if they would get their faces out of their phones, eyes on the road maybe we would see less accidents in the area overall. We wouldn’t have as many serious motorcycle involved accidents.”
No new information came in overnight with police actively investigating the cause of the accident.
