First National Night Out is Coming to Bristol Borough

Well its official, National Night Out (NNO) community event is coming to Bristol Borough for a August 2 date.
The event is being sponsored by Bristol Cares and the Bristol Borough Police Department and will take place on the grounds of Snyder-Girotti Elementary School in Bristol Borough from 5 to 8 pm
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live, according to organizers who launched the effort in the western suburbs of Philadelphia in the 70’s.
For Bristol Borough it would be its first NNO event and is at the heart and soul of newly appointed Chief of Police Joe Moors driven approach to community policing.

Community sources said on Wednesday some minor details still need to be worked out with officials planning to speak in greater detail at the next council meeting on July 11 at the latest.
Co-sponsor Bristol Cares is a prevention-based coalition developed to support positive youth development. Its mission is “creating a community where youth feel valued, have a vision for the future, a sense of self and community.”
BC is part of No Longer Bound, which is a grassroots community based prevention services organization, serving the area.
In the meantime vendors wanting to take part in Bristol’s first ever NNO can apply by filling out this link and submitting it back.
