Fundraisers Started for Bristol Crash Victims

Two fundraising effort was launched in the last 24 hours for victims of last weekend’s car crash in Bristol Borough. 

The effort sseeks to raise $10,000 to defray medical costs for the victims ranging in age from 3 years old to 18 years old. 

The first Go Fund Me posted was  by friend of the family, Nicole Ottobre. 

This is a financial burden on the Scannella family and all help would be greatly appreciated, the post reads.

“Any financial help would greatly be appreciated for the long road ahead with medical expenses, physical therapy, hospital stays etc. this is such a shock and a hardship to this family anything is appreciated and please share thank you and God bless!” said fundraiser creator Ottobre.

The second effort, launched by Samara Kitchens, who called the crash “a mothers worst nightmare.”

Her daughter, Rezauna, was one of the victims too in Saturday’s crash. Kitchens said my daughter and the other girls hurt are troopers but they all have a long road to recovery ahead of them.

“This go fund me could help with legal counsel, help parent(s) who have been home with her, it could help with so many things right now. None of these families should be go through this” Kitchens wrote.

The crash occurred following an alleged State Police chase into Bristol Borough, from Bristol Township that happened around 12:15 pm Saturday involving what appears to be a blue BMW.

First responders were at the scene within minutes of impact, transporting the injured to area trauma units.

First responders had to cut the roof of the crushed mini van to free driver Ciara Anderson, 18 from the wreckage. 

Anderson, was one of four people listed in serious condition at area hospitals, as late as Sunday night

Victims injuries listed on the fundraiser page run the gamut from head trauma, broken teeth, fractured femur with permanent rods & screws, broken pelvis, crushed nose,  major facial and skull damage, and shattered ankles.

Grandmother Ellen Scanella has been providing daily updates to family and friends on her personal social media pages. The Bristol grandmother, who is deeply involved in faith based efforts asks for prayers and good thoughts to be sent her families way since the “horrific crash.”

As of Wednesday night, no charges have been filed against the alleged driver and two passengers in the blue BMW at the time of the crash. Chief of Police Joe Moors repeated his earlier  comments about the investigation prior to Monday night’s Bristol Council meeting.

“It’s active and ongoing” he said. Adding the same comment with regards to borough police locating a hand gun on Old Rt 13 late Saturday night connected to the alleged chase and subsequent crash. .
