Bristol Borough Chief of Police Joe Moors has a special place in his heart for  Bristol Borough children, and so do the officers who work under him.

On Wednesday, with that care in mind, borough children will be able to have ‘Ice Cream with the Cops,’ at two Bristol locations.

Ice cream will be given out at  Buckley & Spruce Street’s from 11:30 am to 12: pm; then Bristol High School, 1801 Wilson Avenue, from 12:00 to 12:30 pm

“All are welcome to have an ice cream treat and meet with the officers” Moors said.

Engagement with the children of Bristol Borough has been constant with officer involved events since Moors took over as Chief of Police in April.

Another community focused event will be the borough’s first ever National Night Out on August 2, in partnership with Bristol Cares, a community based non profit seeking to create a community where youth feel valued, have a vision for the future, a sense of self and community.

Bristol Cares and the Police Department are seeking school supplies donations for the upcoming new year and they can be dropped off at NNO.

And don’t forget, families can still pickup their “free” St Ann’s Carnival tickets at Police Headquarters Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, thanks to the generosity of the DeCaro family, owners of Bristol Environmental for supporting the carnival for the third straight year.
