A Levittown teenager is in serious trouble charged as an adult for an alleged gunpoint robbery in Bristol Borough, investigators say, that occurred this past August.
District Judge Frank W. Peranteau Sr arraigned 17-year-old Brandon O’Flynn on four robbery counts and eight misdemeanor theft offenses remanding him to the Bucks County Youth Detention Center on 10 percent of $50,000 bail which was subsequently posted by a family member the same day and he was released.
According to the criminal complaint, Bristol Borough Police were dispatched on August 12 to a reported armed robbery that had just occurred at Otter and Maple Sts. Police arrived meeting with the victim who said he was robbed at gunpoint by the suspect who exited the driver’s side rear door of a black in color four door sedan. The suspect approached the victim on foot, pulled the slide back on a black in color handgun and pointed the firearm directly in the face of the victim, demanding the victim to give him the bicycle or he would shoot him. The victim initially resisted but relented after O’Flynn physically grabbed the bicycle and rode away with it on Otter St towards Veterans Highway. The black four door sedan occupied by three unknown white males then fled in the opposite direction on Otter St towards Bath Street.
Days later, court records show, investigators met with an after incident witness at police headquarters, who related he had been seeing Instagram and Snapchat posts from a screen name, which police determined weas O’Flynn’s account, showing the bicycle stolen in the robbery being sold by the suspect. The robbery victim also saw the posts and positively identified the bicycle on the posts as being his bicycle. A check of the posts was viewed by Neshaminy High School officials identifying the person selling the bicycle as O’Flynn who is a student at the high school, it was further related that the bicycle was observed to be purchased by a minor from Cobalt Ridge section, Levittown, according to court records.
Investigators went to the address in Cobalt Ridge, Levittown, meeting with the the mother of the minor who purchased the bike asking if the bicycle purchased by child was at the residence. She stated the bicycle was inside and willingly retrieved it, relinquishing the bicycle, police said.
A subsequent interview was conducted with two minors, one stating he did in fact purchase the bicycle in the Blue Ridge section of Levittown from O’Flynn, while the transaction for the purchase of the bicycle was being made O’Flynn allegedly said he had more bicycles for sale if anyone was interested. Police logged the bicycle into evidence where it was stored in the evidence room, the probable cause said.
The robbery victim confirmed to police that it was his bicycle and O’Flynn was arrested this Wednesday. He is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on October 30 according to online court records.
