Goodwill Hose Co. #3 – Station 52 volunteer firefighter John “Studley” Chance passed away Sunday night as a result of an undisclosed health issue.
Chance, affectionately called “Stud” or “Studley” by fellow first responders and close friends, served as a firefighter for the Mifflin Street fire company for a little more than seven years as of this month.
Chance used to hang out on the corner of Mifflin and Bath Streets with Daniel Santiago, who was tragically killed a little more than three years ago and a school crossing guard frequently at dismissal time always stayed close to the fire station because “you never know when a call is going to come in,” he would often say.
