A standoff with a reported armed and barricaded man in Bristol Borough ended with more questions than answers after seven hours, ending early Wednesday morning with no suspect located.

At approximately 3:20 a.m. Bristol Borough Chief of Police Steve Henry approached reporters and said “no one” was in the 700 block Pine Street residence.

Jeff Bohen, Lower Bucks Source

Henry said police were working with the best available information provided by witnesses and tipsters who reportedly told police they saw a man run into the home just after 8:30 p.m. Tuesday evening.

Officers from Bristol, Bensalem and Falls Townships Tullytown Borough and the SWAT team surrounded the block after an incident in Bristol Township earlier that evening said police.

Henry said at 8 pm today police got a report from Bristol Township that one vehicle fired on a second vehicle and a subsequent investigation said the suspect fled and ran into the home located on the 700 block of Pine Street

Police cornered off Buckley, Spruce, and Corson Streets as they set up a command center at the cross streets of Pine and Headley. Officer were positioned in the alleyway behind homes on either side of Pine with Bristol Borough Fire Police providing traffic control beginning around 9 p.m.

A family member of the victim shot at on Bristol Pike said “this all started as a road rage incident coming out of the Family Dollar Store parking lot on Route 13 in Bristol.

That guy just started shooting at my son, she said, “because he was pissed at being cut off. That’s what this was about.”

The source also said there was female in the vehicle when the shooting began.

At approximately 2:15 a.m before entering the home, police ran a phone line to the residence, and broke a second story window. Sources said  the phone was placed in the house using the SWAT Teams Bobcat.

Police had tried unsuccessfully all night to make contact with the suspect who they believed to be holed up in the residence.

Earlier attempts to look into the residence via police drones had been tried several times throughout the evening.

One scary moment, stood out as someone shot off fireworks, close to the Buckley Street side of the cordoned off area. Officers grabbed guns and took two steps towards the house when a voice shouted “Firework!”

About one -hour after breaching the home, Henry said we were given some misinformation, we know he was in the area, The investigation is continuing and we do have the suspects vehicle.

Police have yet to release the name of the suspect, but neighbors heard officers calling the name “Angel” when attempting to reach to reach him when they thought he was in the home.

A local source told Lower Bucks Source borough police had been at the same address earlier Tuesday morning  but the source was unclear as to why.

Henry said in response to reports there were children in the home when the incident began, that to the best of his knowledge that information is wrong.

Editors Note: Throughout the evening Lower Bucks Source was told multiple times by several sources there were children in the house at the beginning of the incident and overheard a police discussion which was thought to confirm that information. We apologize for the mistake. –JB

He originally reported it because we were told by the cops that there were children in that house…. WHILE the cops were taking my nextdoor neighbors out of their house and sending them to the elementary school down the street for better sniper positioning to save the children that they were telling everyone were in the. Jeff didn’t do wrong, he posted what the police told everyone that night. It was a horrible situation and he was there from being too end to make sure everything and everyone was okay.
