Bristol Township Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place Friday afternoon on Bristol-Oxford Valley Road while also reminding the community that the department offers safe and secure alternatives to completing online transactions in person.
The robbery took place, police said, outside the Isabet Academy in the 3800 block of Bristol-Oxford Valley Road in Bristol Township’s Levittown section.
According to police, the victim arranged a meeting as part of an online sale with the purported buyer outside the school building, police said.
When the sale was set to take place, the suspect pulled a gun and stole the item from the seller before fleeing the area, police said.
Officers searched the area for the suspect but came up empty.

Sgt. Jason Mancuso pointed to the risks of meeting strangers to complete online transactions in person. The department offers a safer option; a designated parking lot near the police station and its main lobby area as a safe place for buyers and sellers to complete online initiated transactions.
No injuries were reported, Mancuso said, noting there is no active threat to the community presently.
The investigation remains active and ongoing as of publication time, with no arrest (s) made.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant details to contact investigators via email at patrol@bristolpd.org or submit anonymous tips at this link.
