The Bristol Township Police Department across their socials are asking its followers for input on seven traffic events as it relates to the implementation of its  Automated Red Light Enforcement Program launched in late August.

This initiative is part of the township’s ongoing commitment to reducing dangerous driving behaviors, preventing crashes, and saving lives officials said.

“There have been positive and negative comments about our newly-implemented Automated Red Light Enforcement Program,” said a police spokesman across Bristol Twp Police socials, Tuesday.

“This is a video compilation (below) of seven events we have reviewed. The videos showcase impatience, distracted driving, or even zero care for the other motorists. One vehicle is at a top speed of 83 mph!.” police said.

The red light enforcement effort was launched on August 18  this past summer. With the trial period nearing its end the township is seeking input from motorists and social media commenters on the effort and on the seven red light situations highlighted in the video above.

What are your thoughts on the seven events?

For the first 60 days (which is about to expire), motorists who run a red light will receive a warning notice by mail instead of a fine, police officials said when the effort was launched.

Following the warning period, fines of $100 will be issued for violations.

The red light cameras will have a half-second grace period after a light turns red before issuing a violation, officials said.

I think the concerned people should talk to the National Motorists Association and pull up the website. RLC’s have been around for many years and have flopped all over, including in PA.
