Paul Dennis Oakes Jr., 32 of Bristol Township’s Croydon section was jailed and charged for strangling and breaking the nose of his girlfriend, Bristol Township Police say.

Oakes, according to police, kicked the victim in the head, broke her nose, and had scratches on her face and neck, court records show.

Bristol authorities were called to the 1200 block of Spenser Drive Sunday night just before 9 p.m. in response to domestic assault report.

The victim told police, Oakes came into her room “choked her” for about 15 seconds, and  after choking the victim, police allege, he  punched the victim in her face and began choking her a second time.

The victim told police, she was able to get on the ground in an attempt to escape the attack, but Oakes kicked her twice in the head, the criminal complaint alleges.

The victim was transported to a medical facility for treatment where medical professionals confirmed her nose was was broken in the attack.

Oakes was arraigned by On-Call Justice John J. Kelly Jr on charges of aggravated assault, strangulation, and related offenses. He was jailed on 10 percent of $50,000 bail.

He is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on April 15 in Bristol Borough District Court.
