Only days after cutting a blue ribbon to reopen the Manor Park Playground a fire at the adjacent vacant elementary school is under investigation by Morrisville authorities.
The fire which reportedly broke out “late this morning” in the roof and ceiling of the former Manor Park Elementary School was put out within an hour of firefighters being dispatched.
The vacant school also in close proximity to the Morrisville Borough Senior Center and District Court.

The school was vacated more than a decade ago and was used mostly for storage purposes, said officials in recent years.
Kevin Romano a developer who specializes in redeveloping unique niche type properties purchased the 4,560-square-foot building that sits on a 1.68-acre property with a creative bent to the redevelopment/reuse of existing structures (sometimes homes) and businesses. Romano, through his attorney, presented a vision for the property while requesting a bevy of zoning variances. The outcome of those requests remains unclear as of publication Monday night.
Attempts to reach Romano for comment on the fire were unsuccessful as of late Monday night.
