Gas Spill Shuts Down 5 Pts Roadways, Cleanup in Process



A gas tanker truck spilled 100’s of gallons of Gas in the area of the 5 Points section of Levittown last Saturday night.
First responders were dispatched to the 7000 block of New Falls Road for a report of a gas tanker truck leaking gas on to the street
First reports of the spill came into Lower Bucks Source around 9:30 pm about 20 minutes after the spill was reported to officials according to a public safety source observing the situation.




Bristol Township First Responders with an assist from fire police closed down Bristol-Emile Road from Warner Avenue to Five Points. Firefighters were seen deploying pig mats in the areas closest to the spill. The specialized mats are designed to absorb petroleum based fluids from spillage areas in order to make the roads safe for motorists to drive and ensure fluids don’t enter local sewers.




A first responder source told Lower Bucks Source that about 600 gallons of gasoline flowed out onto Bristol-Emilie Road and with some of the overflow getting into the area storm sewer systems.
The cause of the spill is unknown at this time. Attempts to reach Levittown 2 Fire officials as of 11:35 pm for comment have been unsuccessful.
Bristol Township Police did not confirm or deny they are investigating any wrongdoing related to the spill as of 2:40 am
