A Friday night fire in the Croydon section of Bristol Township caused significant damage to a home.
Fire fighters were dispatched to 100 block of Euclid Avenue at 9:20 pm for a dwelling fire report.
Heavy fire and smoke were showing from the home when fire crews arrived on scene.
One person was in the home when they were alerted of the fire, Bristol Township Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito said, and escaped safely.
The fire started near a power strip, Dippolito said, with the home sustaining “significant fire damage.”
Family member Dana Commiso launched a Go Fund Me effort days after the fire.
“Between the fire itself, smoke and soot not much was salvageable” she said.
She is hoping to raise $1300.00 with the online fund raiser.
As of Thursday night Jan 15, 14 donations have been made totaling slightly more than $1000.00
There were no injuries in the fire, the home is insured and the displaced residents are staying with family, township fire officials said.
