Truman Students Safe after Tuesday Morning Vehicle Accident



As reported earlier this morning, a two vehicle accident involving a Bristol Township School District Bus occurred on Tuesday in which a pick up truck overturned.
District officials released the following statement a short time ago:
This morning, a pickup truck traveling Southbound on Ford Road lost control, struck a utility pole, overturned and struck a District bus traveling to Harry S Truman High School.
There were 35 students on the bus. Students remained on the bus until first responders were able to arrive and safely transfer them to another bus where they were transported to school following an initial assessment by the first responders. The school nurse and counselors met students upon arrival at school and will remain available to them all day.
Newportville Fire Company along with Third District Volunteer Fire Company, and Bristol Township Fire Marshal responded to the accident with entrapment. Upon arrival electrical wires were observed down at the intersection of Ford Road Hilltop Roads.
The driver of the Pick Up truck was extricated and transported by Bucks County Rescue Squad to a medical facility for treatment.
Police officials have yet to comment as of publication time
