Bristol Township Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito said today’s fire at a Croydon based recovery home is under investigation by his office
7 -men live at the residence that seeks to support recovery, two of which were home at the time of the fire that gained life on the rear outside deck, Dippolito said.
The home suffered “extensive damage” he said with one firefighter suffered a slight burn to his hand, the fire marshal said.

The operator of the home made arrangement for all seven men to go to other recovery homes he owns.
The American Red Cross provided assistance with essentials for the men in recovery, fire officials said and the property is insured.
A neighboring property suffered radiant heat damage.

Fire crews from Croydon, Newportville, Edgely, Third District, Cornwells and Bristol Twp Fire Rescue knocked back a fire at a Croydon recovery house Wednesday afternoon.
Firefighters were dispatched at 1:52 p.m. to a reported dwelling fire on the 2100 block of Dixon Avenue at the Independence Lodge recovery home, officials confirmed.
Witnesses on scene said “everyone got out safely.”
Independence Lodge (IL) is a sober living facility for adult males seeking a secure, structured, drug and alcohol free environment which assists the re-entry into the mainstream of life, according to the IL website.
Attempts to reach CEO and Founder of IL Bryan Kennedy were unsuccessful as of publication time.
Bristol Township fire authorities were not immediately available for comment on the cause of the fire.
