Bristol Township Police say reports a student brought a handgun to a middle school were not true.
Armstrong Middle School was locked down according to reports from parents Thursday morning just before 8 am.
In a abbreviated press announcement, police said they were dispatched at 7:51 am for a third party report of a student boarding a Township school bus with a gun heading for the middle school.
While police were investigating Bucks County Technical High School “went into lock down” to be safe school officials said.
BCTHS were told at 9:25 am by township school district officials that the lock down at Armstrong ended and the report of a student possessing a hand gun was ‘false.’
Police said investigating officers were able to sort it out and discovered the student in question had brought a black video game controller to school with him. There was no threat to the students at Armstrong Middle School.
No other information was provided and the reported school shutdown ended shortly thereafter with no further incident.
