A 9-year-old from Fallsington suffered minor injuries and sent to a local hospital after being struck by a vehicle in the Falls Township section of Morrisville on Wednesday.
Falls Twp. Police were dispatched to the scene on January 7 at approximately 1:30 p.m. to investigate the report of a motor vehicle accident involving a struck child pedestrian, said Lt. Christopher Clark.
The preliminary investigation determined that a group of elementary school aged children were walking along the shoulder of West Trenton Ave. near Valarie Rd when one of the children ran into the roadway. A 22-year old female resident of Robbinsville, New Jersey, was traveling in a Mazda CX5 along West Trenton Avenue toward Lincoln Highway, when she unsuccessfully steered to avoid striking the child.
The child was transported to Saint Mary Medical Center for minor injuries after he hit the front bumper and hood before landing on the road. The female driver did not suffer any injuries. Alcohol, drugs or a medical emergency are not believed to be factors in the accident, said Clark.
Anyone having information or who witnessed the accident is asked to contact the assigned investigator, P/O Michael Collins, at (215) 302-3314, or via email at m.collins@fallstwppd.com.
