A man with two prior retail theft convictions was caught red handed at a local sports retail outlet stealing merchandise Falls Township police say.

Taylor Harrison, 25 of Elkins Park, was arrested and charged Saturday night for a October 6 incident at Rally House located in Fairless Hills.

According to police, an employee of the sports team apparel store called the Bucks County Radio Room and reported a man was in the store and apparently placing items in zipped black back pack.

The employee told the 911 operator, the suspect was acting “strangely” while in the store.

Police arrived on scene, while the employee remained on the phone with the 911, as Harrison was observed leaving the store without paying for any of the merchandise in the black back pack, the criminal complaint alleges.

Officers approached Harrison to speak with him, but he refused to acknowledge the police presence, riding away on his bike with black back pack on his back, police wrote in court records.

As Harrison fled on his bike, he was seen by other police units in the area. As officers approached the suspect, he rammed his bicycle into a police vehicle and punched it also, according to police records.

The suspect again tried to flee but officers caught up with him in the parking lot of the Sheraton Hotel, next door and he was taken into custody.

Harrison, according to police, was in possession of $127 worth of sports apparel from the Rally House that employees alleged he stole.

The suspect was arraigned, charged and released on unsecured bail,  by District Judge Michael W. Gallagher with a scheduled date to appear at Falls Township District Court tentatively scheduled for October 20.

Harrison is charged with two felony theft related offenses and one summary offense.

He has two retail theft related convictions  and an active case for the same, in Montgomery County, according to online court records.
