Coroner Releases ID of Man Who Jumped from Trenton Makes Bridge Last Week

Bucks County Coroner Meredith Buck, announced her office has identified a body recovered from the bank of the Delaware River in Falls Township on March 21, 2023, as that of  Zachary Lobato, 24, of Hamilton, New Jersey. 

Lodato had been missing since January 27, 2023.

Police said that a boater in the area spotted the body at low tide and called for help.

Buck said Lodato is the person witnessed jumping from the Trenton Makes Bridge on March 21.

The body was found Tuesday by a fisherman on the Delaware River who alerted authorities. Falls Township Police  Department and Morrisville Fire Department assisted the Coroner’s Office with recovery of the body.

Next of kin has been notified and assisted with identification of the decedent. Preliminary autopsy findings revealed evidence of prolonged water immersion and no obvious signs of trauma. Cause and  manner of death are pending further investigation and final autopsy report.

 “Our office extends its deepest condolences to the Decedent’s family and friends during this difficult time,” Buck said in  statement.
