Bristol Man Charged with Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, Calls Officer Racial Slur and “Communist”
A Bristol Borough Man was arrested and jailed early Friday morning connected to a series of incidents that alarmed residents on his block and leading to him being charged.
Christopher Dow, 38 is accused of terrorizing locals, head butting a police officer and related alleged offenses.
According to Police, residents living on the 900 block of Pond Street went to Police Headquarters Wednesday reporting Dow stood on his front porch, gun in hand, and racked it, and walked back into his residence.
On Thursday, during routine patrol a resident flagged down Officer Elifa Soto. The resident told Soto, he was driving on Pond St, when a white male walking in the middle of the street wearing no shirt, punched his vehicle.
Soto was making his way to Pond St, when he was dispatched to the 400 block of Lafayette Street for a report of a man armed with a gun involved in a fight, according to court documents.
Soto arrived on scene, made contact with Dow, who was irate and agitated, the criminal complaint says.
Dow was placed into custody and police spoke to with a resident.
The victim said that he was driving on Pond St, making a turn onto Lafayette St when Dow allegedly threw a log at his moving vehicle. The victim told Police he continued up the block coming to a stop in front of his home.
Dow, Police records say, ran towards the vehicle looking to start a fight, but bystanders stopped and detained him
As he was being transported to Police Headquarters for processing, Dow asked Soto if he was a Communist two times. The officer ignored the comment, which prompted Dow to call him a “nigger,” the criminal filing says. Soto ordered the agitated man, to stop and he threatened to kill the veteran police officer. Dow repeated the threat, and asked the officer to remove his handcuffs so he could fight him
A second officer helped Soto escort Dow to a cell when he allegedly head-butted, Soto in the face.
Dow was arraigned just after midnight Friday morning by On Call District Judge Jan Vislosky on one felony count of aggravated assault, one count of simple assault, one count of terroristic threats, three counts of disorderly conduct, and three summary offenses.
Vislosky set bail at 10 percent of $100,000.00 which Dow was unable to post, and was then sent to Bucks County Correctional Facility.
He is currently scheduled to appear in Bristol Borough District Court on May 4 to answer the charges.
Hey so you should review the court records. This story is such complete crap most of the charges were dropped at the preliminary hearing due to lack of evidence. Testimony was purjured and it ended with a no contest plea to nothing more than disorderly conduct
I know for a fact that Chris Dow has never used the racist term of “nigger” towards anyone. Being a black man that has also delt with the same police and false reports dealing with my family, I don’t believe anything that is reported because when there is no evidence, it is made up to try to make the person look as guilty as possible to overlook the real facts.
