Two tips from the cyber sleuths at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children led to the arrest of a Levittown man Wednesday by Falls Township Police.
Walter Goodwin, 53 was arraigned minutes after midnight by a on call District Judge on one felony count of child pornography and two misdemeanor drug related offenses.
According to the criminal complaint, an account user from Synchronoss Technologies, Inc saved, shared, or uploaded graphic media files. The investigation led to Goodwin. The files contained images of a girl between the ages of seven to 10 years of age who is naked and posed.
A search warrant was obtained, according to court records, on the user account at the tech company where police retrieved multiple images of “child pornography,” police wrote in court papers.
Last week, Falls Township Detectives and a Special Agent from Homeland Security served a search warrant on Goodwin’s home at Mill Creek Road Apartments locating the suspects Samsung cell phone. Upon searching the phone police allegedly located a password protected folder which contained additional pornographic images prepubescent girls.
Police interviewed Goodwin who said he’s come across child pornography but he was looking for “young teens.” Goodwin was asked if he had any pornographic images on his cell phone and he said. “I sure hope not.” He then said, there may be four or five pictures of “younger chicks.”
Detective Ronald MacPherson removed the cell phone cover discovering a clear zip lock bag containing a powdered substance alleged to be cocaine. Police said a forensic investigation of his devices and an additional search warrant served on Goodwin for his vehicle is “ongoing” as of this criminal filing. Additional charges could be filed before Goodwin’s preliminary hearing on December 20.
Goodwin was sent to Bucks County Prison in lieu of 10 percent of $100,000.00 bail.
