Falls Township first responders had a busy Friday morning knocking back a fire at a scrap yard and about 90 minutes later with mutual aid companies dousing a fire in the attic of a home on the 200 block of Birch Drive in the Levittown section of the township.
Falls Township Fire Company No. 1. at 8:05 a.m. Friday was dispatched for a scrap fire at Sims Metal Management. Chief 30 arrived and found a pile of scrap vehicles fully involved. Engine 30 arrived and laid in to the scene. Ladder 30, Engine 98 from Morrisville Fire Company and Squirt 13 from Levittown Fire Company No. 2 arrived shortly afterwards. The fire was placed under control a short time later, said fire officials.

Levittown #1 Fire Company was dispatched at about 10:25 a.m. to the Birch Valley section of Levittown for a reported dwelling fire. Upon arrival a firefighters discovered a small fire in the attic that was quickly extinguished, fire safety officials said.

All occupants escaped safely and there were no injuries to firefighters, said Levittown Fire Co No. 1.
Levittown #1 was assisted by Levittown #2, Fairless Hills Fire Department – Station 31, and Falls Township Fire Company #1.
