Falls Hires New Police Officers; 3 Sworn in at Supervisors Meeting

Falls Township Police hired five new Police Officers, three of which were sworn in at the start of the Board of Supervisors  meeting Tuesday night by District Justice Jan Vislosky.

The following are the newest members of the Department:

Officer Daniel Matkowski:  Badge #123. Matkowski was born in Philadelphia County and graduated Central High School in Brooksville, Florida in 2009.  Matkowski  joined the United States Marie Corp in 2010 and graduated from Temple University with a business degree in 2019.  Daniel is currently a cadet at the Temple University Police Academy and is graduating in March, 2020

Officer Michael Collins:   Badge #124 Collins was born and raised in Montgomery County and graduated from Abington High School in 2012.  He graduated from Penn State, Abington with a degree in Administration of Justice.  He currently holds the rank of First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army and is the executive officer at the U.S. Army recruiting station in the Pittsburgh, PA area.  He will be attending Temple University Police Academy in the Spring, 2020

Officer Matthew Shannon:  Badge #125 Shannon grew up in Montgomery County and graduated from Upper Merion Area High School.  He attended West Chester University and graduated from Montgomery County Community College Police Academy in 2015.  Shannon has worked as a police officer at the East Norriton Township Police Department since 2016.

Officer Robert Goodwin:  Badge #126 Goodwin grew up in Bucks County and graduated Bensalem High School in 2014.  He graduated from Penn State Abington with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. Goodwin graduated the Philadelphia Police Academy in 2019 and has been employed as a Philadelphia Police Officer since September 2019.

Officer Michael Mraw:   Badge #127 Michael grew up in Hamilton, NJ.   He graduated from James Madison University with a bachelor’s degree and is currently enrolled in a master’s program. Mraw served in the Army National Guard and attained the rank of First Lieutenant. He has been employed for the last four and half years as a police officer in Hollywood, Florida.
