Falls Police Seek Communities Help in Fatal Motorcycle Accident

A Croydon man was killed Saturday afternoon in a motorcycle accident in the Morrisville section of the township apparently due to defects in the roadway authorities said

According to police, on Saturday, August 12, at approximately 10:34 AM, Police were dispatched to the area of Bristol Pike, just south of the intersection with Mill Creek Road, Morrisville, to investigate a single vehicle traffic accident involving a motorcycle.

The preliminary investigation determined that a 32 year old male resident of Croydon was riding his motorcycle along Bristol Pike when he struck a series of potholes, causing him to lose control of his bike.  As a result, he left the roadway after which he struck a section of guardrail, and subsequently a telephone pole, Lt Chris Clark said.The motorcyclist was transported to Jefferson Bucks Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Alcohol, drugs or a medical emergency are not believed to be factors in causation of the accident, police said The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision, authorities said

It’s the second fatal accident on Falls Township roadways this week.  A bicyclist was killed early Thursday when struck from behind by another vehicle Falls authorities say.
