A Washington Crossing woman has been charged with defiant trespass, criminal conspiracy, theft and a summary offenses for wrecking her former employers work truck.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Sunday, August 6th, 2023, police arrived at 67 Viewpoint Lane to a report of disturbance.
The probable cause further reported that police spoke to the victim, who reported that his former employee, Bishop, had been fired that day. Later in the day, Elizabeth Bishop 33, and her boyfriend, Jason Brown 29 of Bristol, arrived at his home and entered his work truck that was parked in the driveway. The pair caused damage to the ignition switch and also stole chargers and cables used for computer equipment. Murphy said that Brown and Bishop fled before the police arrived.
Brown was charged for the incident with theft and criminal mischief, according to court records with a hearing preliminary hearing scheduled last month in Falls Twp.
The probable cause also reported that a scheduled court proceeding for Brown took place on Wednesday, September 27, 2023. Brown asked for the hearing and represented himself. He called Bishop as a witness. She testified that she had been fired earlier in the day and that she knew she was not permitted to be at that location. She also testified that she still had the keys to get access to the vehicle, and she entered the vehicle to remove the items. During her testimony, she said, “we were out of the vehicle when the owner arrived home,” and there was nothing wet inside the vehicle when she left it, police said in court records.
Murphy testified that something was poured inside the vehicle, causing more damage. At the end of the hearing, Brown was asked to return the keys and the broken portion of the ignition switch. Brown removed them from his pants pocket and left those items on the witness stand, police said in the probable cause.
After the hearing, Bishop confirmed her mailing address with the police. She was informed that the District Attorney (DA) approved charging her as well, and she would get her charges by mail, court records show.
Bishop said that she “did it all” and to “just arrest me” but let him go. “
Bishop was charged with criminal conspiracy, defiant trespassing, theft from a motor vehicle, and criminal mischief, court records show.
Her preliminary hearing is currently scheduled for Wednesday, November 15, 2023, with Judge Vislosky presiding. Brown’s charges were held for court. he is scheduled to appear on November 15 in the Court of Common Pleas.
