A heavy police presence was reported in Falls Townships’ Morrisville section late Thursday night.
Falls Twp and Morrisville Borough Police officers were seen racing to the 1600 block of S. Pennsylvania Avenue, according to tipsters in the area. Those same tipsters noted a Philadelphia Police Department Helicopter observing from above apparently spotlighting areas to assist officers on the ground around 9 p.m.
The police response was set off by reports of a shooting and a barricade situation. Contributors to the Citizen.com app circulated the same reports which appeared across social media platforms.
Lower Bucks Source readers living in the Morrisville area said Shelter-In-Place directive was issued by the Falls Township Police Department at around 8:35 p.m. .
A review of publicly available online court records detailing scheduled preliminary arraignment hearings showed no arrests filed by Falls Twp or Morrisville Borough authorities.
Police officials did not immediately respond to requests for comment early Friday morning.
