A Robbinsville, New Jersey man has been jailed after a warrant for his arrest was issued last week for terrorizing a woman in the Morrisville section of Falls Township.
According to online court records, Richard Wesson,32 was jailed on 10 percent of $100,000.00 bail by on-call District Judge Robert Wagner last night on charges of terroristic threats, criminal mischief, theft, and related offenses.
Wesson, according to police, on September 16, chased a vehicle his girlfriend was in. with a second woman, down West Trenton Avenue.
The victim told police in a written statement, that Wesson had harassed and threatened her in text messages saying he was going to murder her recently.
She also told police, according to the criminal complaint, that she came home to find the license plate missing from her vehicle,ย and as she was reporting the theft, Wesson showed up with a bat in his hand.
Wesson, the woman said proceeded to try and smash the window out where she was sitting in her friends Nissan SUV. The two fled before he could, though, according to court documents.
The suspect then proceeded to smash out the windows of a similar looking vehicle, a Honda, owned by a woman not connected to the incident in any way.
Wesson jumped into his blue Jeep and chased the woman until police arrived on scene, court records show. .
A witness voluntarily approached police and provided a statement about the incident, court records show.
She said she watched black male, described as short wearing a camouflage mask walk up to the Honda,ย pull a bat out of his pants, swing, smashing the windows of the Honda, then fleeing. .
Her description of the suspects vehicle, matched that of the victim and friend, police said.
Wesson was sent to Bucks County Correctional Facility, with a preliminary hearing tentatively set for October 6.
