Man Charged with Aggravated Assault in Attack on Police Officer

A displaced 22-year-old man causing a disturbance at a family member’s home late Thursday night made life far more difficult for himself when he refused to leave the property after being directed to do so by police causing an altercation with responding officers in which the suspect allegedly kicked an officer in the face twice.

Police responded to a report of a disorderly individual in the 80 block of Bald Cypress at 9:30 p.m. on January 23.

Luke Seibert, 22, currently unhoused, was observed continually ringing the doorbell of a family members home despite no one answering the door, police said.

The officer observed one person looking out the window as he approached the house, but he did not come to the door.

Officers told Seibert he needed to leave because he was not welcome at the home.

Seibert told the officer, don’t tell him what to do. He was informed again that he needed to leave the property. Once again, he ignored the command and continued to ring the doorbell. When he rang the doorbell on the third occasion, the officer grabbed his shoulder and stopped him. Seibert told the officer not to touch him after pulling away from him. When the officer attempted to escort him from the residence, Seibert began flailing his arms and swinging his fists. Despite being taken to the ground, he continued to resist by kicking an officer in the face. Seibert bit the officer twice in the leg, and repeatedly pinched the officer in the groin. Seibert had to be physically detained by four officers and carried to a patrol vehicle since he refused to walk, police wrote in the affidavit.

Seibert was arraigned by on-call Judge Brian M. Marriott with bail set at $100,000.00 and remanded to Bucks County Correctional Facility (BCCF). He is charged with one felony count of aggravated assault, resisting arrest, simple assault, defiant trespass and related offenses. He is currently scheduled to appear in court on February 26, according to online court records.
